One of my favorite parts about chatting with guests for the podcast is getting to hear what led them to where they are right now and what they are doing. We all have a story of where we come from, past events that have propelled us to where we are now, and so many times there’s a hard story behind it. I’ve had the privilege today of chatting with Christine Smith, and getting to know more of the journey she was on before she became a personal trainer, and before she was passionate about helping other women find healing from adrenal fatigue and leading them to understanding how to start improving their nutrition and exercise habits. Listen in to hear about the challenges Christine faced that the Lord used to prepare her mind and heart for the work that she’s doing now.
Christine Smith is a wife and mom who took a big leap when she relocated to a small town in Missouri from the suburbs of Kansas in order to be with her now husband and stepson. She had spent the last fifteen years developing a career in property management and living close to her job. After the move, she and her husband were married and they started trying to have more kids. After suffering two miscarriages and then getting pregnant with their daughter, Christine began to notice that her health wasn’t at all where it should have been. In addition to her miscarriages, she had a history of crash dieting and excessive exercise and her body was taking a toll.
Christine spent two years looking to doctors for a diagnoses, only to be told that on paper, she was healthy and they didn’t know what was wrong. It wasn’t until she was referred to a functional health doctor in Texas that Christine got an answer. The doctor diagnosed Christine with adrenal fatigue and under active thyroid, as well as advised her to remove gluten from her diet and add in a few supplements. Within weeks Christine could see changes for the better in her health.
Her experiences drove her to dive into really studying adrenal fatigue and it’s causes and effects. She found herself becoming more and more passionate about health and fitness and started wondering how she could fit this into her new life, her family dynamic, and make sure that she could still take care of herself.

Christine now helps women improve their health and fitness through her Healthy Habits Course, meal planning services, recipe database, and through weekly workouts in a community setting. She says she’s found that when women are able to chat with each other and ask questions and know they are all on the same journey, they receive motivation from each other and they are able to change their outlook as they pursue their goals.

Christine’s Practical Tips for Healthy Living
- Keep a food log and track your food for a couple weeks. It will make you more mindful of what you’re eating.
- Have protein, fat, and fiber at each meal, it will help keep you full and satisfied longer.
- Sleep is important. If you have to choose between an early workout and sleep, and you’re feeling tired, choose sleep. Go to bed earlier or sleep in and change your workout.
Getting to Know Christine
Q: What would be your favorite coffee drink?
A: I don’t really drink coffee, but I went to Starbucks and got a refresher the last time I was there. If I drink it, it’s not healthy, loaded with sugar, creme, etc.
Q: So then what’y our go-to drink in the morning?
A: Usually just a big bottle of water. I carry a 33 oz. bottle everywhere I go.
Q: Where would you travel next?
A: I would love to go to Italy and Greece. That would be amazing to do a cruise over there. That’s on my bucket list.
Q: What is your favorite candle scent?
A: I love the peppermint and warm apple at the moment.
