Encouragement is something we often lack. Something, I wish there was more of and something I am working to create more of. Being in a space of sharing verses and sharing wisdom, encouragement and abundance; I find myself craving more scripture, more Jesus. Have you ever been there? You know, the place where you’re doing something and to continue you need to keep filling your cup. Yep, so I am creating resources, like this for myself. When I need some encouragement, some scripture, I know where to come and I want to share it with you!
The Bible is a place I find a lot encouragement and understanding and clarity. When I am in a season of excitement, I can turn to the Bible, when I am in a season of growth or challenge, I can do the same.
With that, let’s talk about these 6 verses and why and how I find them to be encouraging.
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. -Psalm 28:7
You are absolutely not alone in this journey, so burst out and know you can be filled with joy!
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother’—which is the first commandment with a promise — ‘so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.’” -Ephesians 6:1-3
Ha. This one gets me. I am like, hey kiddos, did you hear this? Patience with teaching and helping the kids know can be a challenge. However, this verse also makes me think of how patient the Lord is with me. He is always so so patient.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
Working for the Lord is rewarding. Are you allowing it to be rewarding?
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. – 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Gosh, my best friend had chosen verse 17 of this as one of her favorite verses. To this day it still gets me. For out light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. This is so so true to me! And when things get tough and you need a reminder, grab this.
and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. – 1 John 3:22
Are you being obedient to the Lord? Are you looking to hear from Him? I find many things will fall into place when I am really focused on my relationship with Jesus. Anyone else or just me?
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. – 1 Peter 2:9
I mean, this is HUGE. You are CHOSEN, a royal priesthood. God chose YOU. So, when you’re down, remember you have been chosen. You are wanted and you are valued.
What are your favorite go to verses? I would love to know!
